Truck Story
The story of Firkin BBQ
Last summer we ran a Brewery Tap in Warwickshire and to capitalise on the outdoor space and to add a presence to events organised for this space I built the trailer as a Bar / Barbecue - Putting the Bar in Barbecue. The trailer hosts two hand pulls and one free flow pump offering Craft Beer / Real Ale (for the brewery tap), as well as drinks fridge and ice machine. One side offering a bar and the other a barbecue.
Make & Model
We are are Trailer based set up, specifically a converted exhibition trailer - towed by a Land Rover Defender. Having looked at a lot of trailers, this had the presence and was weight bearing enough to provide what we needed for our concept.
Specialty
Barbecue! Currently using real charcoal flat grills, Epic Hotdogs with future plans for pulled beef, ribs and spit cooked meat over live fire, all subject to event of course. We have a real passion for barbecuing whatever we can get our hands on…
Ideal Customer
We really come into our own at family events, private and public. In a single serve we can offer something to satisfy the adult palate with a Spicy Buffalo, Snob or Asian Temper Dog, a thirst for Beer or Bar drink, and the little ones can have a simple plain hotdog - everyone happy in a single serving.
Self Supporting
Yes, we have a water tank, with hot and cold water, we need a 16amp hook up or can use a LPG generator when no power is available.
Signature Dish
Epic Hotdog: A Warwickshire pork sausage, grilled over charcoal, in a fresh baked bun… Topped, coated or drizzled with our homemade toppings, makes for an Epic Hotdog
Private Events
Yes we do! We have no hard and fast rule as it depends on bar with food or just food. Best to review on a case by case basis.
Favourite Place
Midlands / Warwickshire / Birmingham, we have been a sell out success at Digbeth Dinner Popup events where the audience is Family oriented.
